Overview:
The Arigna Miners Way and Historical Trail is a network of walking paths that traverse the scenic landscapes of Counties Cavan, Leitrim, Roscommon, and Sligo. The trails follow the historic routes once used by miners travelling to the Arigna coal mines, offering a unique glimpse into Ireland’s industrial past and natural beauty.
Project Summary:
We developed a user-friendly WordPress website for The Miners Way & Historical Trail, transforming the existing trail guide booklet into a detailed, stage-by-stage online guide. Each stage includes information on distance, ascent, estimated time to complete, terrain, and more. We also integrated an alert system, allowing administrators to quickly notify visitors of any restrictions or issues on specific trail stages.
Result:
The new website enhances the trail experience for visitors, providing easy access to comprehensive trail information and updates. It supports The Miners Way’s mission of promoting historical and outdoor tourism, making the trails more accessible to a wider audience.
