We have become aware of fraudulent emails being sent to some Nicecube Design clients by someone impersonating Paul Higgins and Nicecube Design.
The sender is using a Gmail address and has copied elements of our identity, including Paul’s name, photograph and email signature. The emails refer to supposed website security, maintenance or performance issues and, in some cases, request payment for work that has not been authorised or carried out by Nicecube.
These emails are not from Nicecube Design.
Genuine business emails from Paul will come from an @nicecubedesign.com email address. Nicecube will not contact you unexpectedly from a Gmail address requesting payment for website work.
If you receive a suspicious email claiming to be from Nicecube:
- Do not reply to the sender.
- Do not click any links or make a payment.
- Mark the message as phishing.
- Contact Paul directly at [email protected] if you are unsure whether a message is genuine.
The fraudulent email account and associated payment link have been reported to the relevant service providers, and affected Nicecube clients have been contacted directly.
We are also aware of similar impersonation attempts affecting other Irish web designers and developers, suggesting this is not isolated to Nicecube Design.
If you have received one of these emails, please forward it to [email protected] so it can be added to the ongoing reports.
